Being realistic

for me is not going to be setting a certain weight loss goal! I am doing the best I have ever done on any weight loss program! By now I have usually given up! I even messed up over the holidays and got myself right back on track! A miracle in itself with me! I have always put off for tomorrow what should be done today!

My goals for 2007 are to lose each week even if it is only a half a pound and to really get some excercise in……..at first the weeks of losing a half pound were discouraging to me, but I told myself that at least I am losing. In the nine weeks I have been on this program I have lost 13-1/2 pounds. My lowest weeks being a 1/2 pound my biggest week being 3 pounds. I have lost something every week no matter how little and to me that is a lot!

    It is definitely better to not worry about numbers but focus on being healthy and just living a healthy lifestyle for both you & your family, which is what you are doing.  That’s really the best thing you can do

    Wow, Bette Jo… you truly are doing great!  …And if that’s your little boy, he is GORGEOUS!   Just as long as you’r moving in the same direction, you are bound to arrive at your destination.

    Dan’s right.  Don’t worry so much about the numbers.  Focus on eating right and making healthy choices.  The weight loss will come naturally.

    I so understand….  I have the hardest time with the scale.  I only weigh myself every couple of weeks because if I did it everyday I would never make it.  I always tell myself that the numbers are not whats important but those pesky scales always have a way of throwing my off coarse.  As long as your eating right and your exercising and your energy is up you will see a difference whether the scales says so or not.   Take care!

    Hey Bette Jo,

    Congrats on your success so far.. Looks like you are doing absolutely wonderful!!!  Your goals for 2007 look fantastic but remember the scale doesn’t move every week.. Sometimes we lose inches.. Takes a bit for our bodies to adjust so please don’t get discouraged if that scale doesn’t move every week!!  Keep on keeping on and you are going to have much success in 2007!!

    You are doing great!  Losing consistently is the key!  Keep up the good work.

    RYC: Well, my hubby doesn’t have much of a choice but to join me.  He has agreed that if this isn’t working for both of us after 6 months we will join the YMCA.  He’s kind of cheap with those kind of things so he should stay on track with me!
