Wish I could throw out all the junk……..

my hubby keeps buying! I buy fruits and veggies and healthy snacks, while hubby still buys his Little Debbies and chips and donuts……..grrrrrrrrrrr. Yesterday, I took them all out of the packages and put them in food storage containers and stuck them in theĀ  pantry. If I don’t see the packaging every time I open the pantry maybe they won’t be as tempting. I know they are there, but now they are hidden somewhat! I swear the closer I get to my goals the more hubby is trying to sabatoge me!

Oh, how I keep hoping and praying he will get the message of wanting us both to be healthy! I know he can do it, but he says it is too hard. When I first began this journey he joined me and he lost 12 lbs. right off the bat. Then all of a sudden he is buying the junk again, and when I asked him why he said it is too hard. I only tried pressing it with him once and he told me “you eat what you want and I will eat what I want”, and I have not said another word to him about it. I know that he has to do this on his own terms, not on mine. I wouldn’t be able to do this on anyone elses terms it has to be my terms and my choices. I have decided I want to be healthier, thinner and happier. I can only hope and pray as I continue on this journey for a healthier me, he will one day decide he wants to join me!

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend!

It is hard when spouses have a different agenda. My husband has a problem that if he doesn’t eat that he will loose weight. But I am glad you are sticking to your healthy plan. I am 50 lbs overweight. I have lost 6 lbs. I know it is hard. He has apple pies. Every time I look in the cabinet I see it. I wonder who is going to know if I eat one. Then I think I know. Good luck.

I also have a husband with the metabolism of a blast furnace. He can, does, and needs to eat everything! He has candy bars, fruit pies, cookies, chips, ice cream, doughnuts, and Pepsi. Most of it is kept in the garage (we have a fridge and a freezer out there) but some of it he has to have near at hand…so he has a ’snack drawer’. I try to never open that drawer. When I do, I visualize …. yep, POOP. That drawer is full of it. If I open it, it will stink. I know it sounds stupid, but I very seldom have any desire to open that drawer. Same way with going out to the garage to get any of his ’stuff’. I have my own healthy stuff right here. ;)

Well done for keeping strong. My hubby also got fed up with the health kick after a few weeks. He’s happy to work out but not give up his burgers and bacon!! I feel that I’ve influenced him a little. I buy better food and tell him he has to buy his own junk (that’s a pretty big deterant). He chuckles at my descriptions of carbs (bread is glue, rice is the enemy ect) but I see him eating less of it so I think it’s slowly getting through. Keep it up!!

I have to try your little tricks!
That is what makes Buddyslim so great! All the things we share!
I will think of my hubby’s snacks as poop! Yup they are poop! LOL…..love it! Thanks, Sandy!
Noodle, I love your descriptions! Every time I think of the fat I have lost I try to visualize what that amount of looks like in globs!

I’m so sorry to hear that he isn’t doing this with you. BUT, I am so glad to know that you’re hanging in there in spite of the things he is doing (or not doing)! :o) I’m proud of you girl!!!

Yeah, a man can be stubborn. And the bad thing is they usually don’t start making changes until a heart attack shows up and the doctor tells them they need to shape up. Grrr. You just keep fighting for you. I know you love him but there are just some things a man is gonna do no matter what anyone says.
