I have a trick up my sleeve today…

my hubby doesn’t eat very healthy. He won’t give healthy a chance. He is proud of me and he tells me this often. He tells me he wants to start eating healthier all the time, but it just doesn’t happen. If I say it is healthy forget it, he is afraid it is going to taste bad. He doesn’t eat veggies except for corn and potatoes. He thinks potatoe chips are a vegetable, okay! He eats very little fruits, he loves his Little Debbies too much. For the most part I eat turkey burgers when he has a hamburger, but he won’t give one a chance. So tonight he wants spaggetti and meatballs. He is working and I am home alone, so I made meatballs with ground turkey. I am feeding this to him tonight for dinner. I am not telling him what I did not even if he likes it. Shhhhhhhhh! I figured out the calories per meat ball and it is only 55 cal. each. not to bad they are good size I made 16 out of the lb. If I can pull this one off maybe I can start pulling some other tricks out of my sleeve. Does any one else have to be sneaky for picky unhealthy eaters? If you do, any ideas would be wonderful.

I hope you are all having an amazing day!

Big HUGS!

    You sneaky thang you! hehe…

Mom dad hates tuna fish, or so he SAID. For years my mother made salmon patties out of tuna and he never knew.

You can also disguise cauliflower to taste and look like mashed potatoes. That’s the way I got my son to get some veggies down. My son also hates onion, but he never knows it when I use chopped onion from the spice aisle. He can’t see it.

I’m betting that your husband won’t taste the difference in the meatballs. :)

    Huggggggggggggggggs,

You can make chili with ground turkey and no-one will know the difference because of all the spices.

I assume you make a tomato sauce to go with the spaghetti and meatballs. That’s a vegetable (okay tomato is technically a fruit), plus you probably put onion, etc in the sauce.

I’m lucky because we all love and eat salads, vegetables and fruit at home here and that makes up at least three quarters of every meal. I don’t know how I would cope with someone who doesn’t eat fruit & veg. It must be very difficult for you.

Hahahah!! OMG you sound so much like me. I know this HEALTHY thing is almost impossible even for those of us who actually WANT and ASPIRE to healthy….so I cannot even begin to phanthom, how much more difficult is it for those who weren’t even trying to go that route.

My DH is the same way. I have been lucky that at school, they’ve been teaching my child about nutrition, so my baby is more open to whole foods, but DH, FORGET IT.

100% Whole Wheat bread? NO WAY!!

Little by little I have been changing things–it’s been about a year or so since we’ve made white rice at home—we only eat brown.

Same with pasta—if it’s not 100% Whole grains, we don’t bother bringing it home. Here’s the thing…the bread has been impossible….BUT I found a 100% whole wheat ITALIAN STYLE BREAD and have been sneaking that in for weeks—he hasn’t caught on—thank GOD!!

Same with lean turkey…..I hope you can sneak the turkey past his tastebuds…..and if you find other healthy things you can fool him with, please let me know…I need to find other substitutes as well!!

GOOD LUCK TONIGHT and don’t worry, your secret is safe with me!

My husband said to tell you ‘turkey burgers’. I made a recipe that was on the Oprah show and he loves them… even more than beef! And he is a Burger King Guy! Never would he eat a burger made of anything other than beef… But he saw the Oprah show… Saw Donald Trump say it was the best burger he ever ate. (it’s from his own private club, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, and he hadn’t even tried it) It is awesome, a pain in the butt to make, but I make a bunch and freeze them….

Why Bette Jo you sneaky little thing you, lol! My husband would definitely know the difference. I buy all the good stuff and he goes out and buys what he calls the edible stuff that I don’t touch. Thank goodness that is only for a few things and he eats very little of it, lol! Luv ya! sista!
