What Christmas is all about…….

Christmas isn’t about what gifts you can buy! Christmas is about love and about Jesus Christ!

I was so upset being out of work and thinking about not being able to buy the things I have in the past for my family! I was so down and depressed!

My grandkids are spoiled little monsters and I have always thought I had to outdo the other grandma! This year I can’t do it! They are each getting one thing I know they really want and a couple little things! Then I have the oldest two that have a birthday on the 1st of January! This year I hope I can give them a lesson on the true meaning of Christmas!

Today is my hubby’s and my 30th Anniversary! I cannot hardly believe we have been married 30 years! We have had many ups and downs over the years, but mostly ups! I had all kinds of plans for our anniversary this year, but my health issue and money stopped that too! We have decided to wait until spring and then do something special then! At least it gives me something to look forward to and plan!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Big HUGS!

Happy Anniversary! I think everyone will have a lean Christmas this year. My family is also looking at what Christmas really is. I don’t know how all the commercialism started. We should all go back to making homemade cookies and giving fewer but meaningful gifts. Jesus is the reason for the season not Walmart!

Hope you have a special anniversary! Just being together is the best present!

    Love ya!

Bette Jo, you are a truly incredible lady ! If everyone could only think like you we all would be terribly happy ! Good luck in the teaching the grandkids ! Hugs, Kimmi

Our family has agreed to NOT buy gifts this year. I have knitted socks and hats for all the guys, scarves with hoodies and socks for all the girs. 4 kids,(and spouses) 7 grandkids…. now I only have one more scarf for my daughter in law… whew. Looks like I’ll barely make it. You are so right Bette Jo. Christmas is about the baby Jesus. Not the X-Box or outrageously priced clothes. This is going to be one of our nicest Christmases yet. I can’t wait to see what my two oldest granddaughters are making, they are just learning to sew and their mom says they are really making something nice. (I’m hoping a quilt?) Anyway, instead of worrying about what to buy it’s nice to make something I know they will all appreciate. Two years ago I crocheted each grandchild an afgan (granny squares, what else?)…their mom told me the colors each one liked. My grandson’s was the hardest. BLACK! You are a good, positive influence on your family, keep it up.

Christmas will be small dollar this year here…really small. It is about Jesus’ birth and if it takes times like this to get people to focus on that, then good. The gifts are forgotten soon after. Its the time spent with family that stays in our memories. Do something fun with the grandkids like homemade ornaments or stringing popcorn for a tree.
    Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! I love hearing stuff like that. I think Christmas is getting back to it’s roots this year and I think it’s great! Don’t be upset, I think we should all take this as a chance to really get into the spirit!!! :) I know you’ll still have a great christmas no matter what gifts.

Hugs girl…happy anniversary. You guys have really reached a milestone.
Yeah, finances is really playing a part in everyone’s christmas this year. Like everyone says…thats not what really matters.
One year..we had $20 to spend one the kids..the rest were things we made-I think one of the greatest presents I gave one family member was a christmas story in which he was the star…my dad was like…what did you give him??…the family member was in the kitchen crying…I went in there and asked if he was ok…he was like…you know me so well…it was tears of joy..I was afraid I offended him somehow lol. You never know what will touch someones heart. Besides when there isnt much money…brings out the creative side lol.
    Much love girl…Debbie
